The legal standing of the home-building contract is subjected to the strictest checks

Only house builders who offer and apply the only legally-acceptable detached home construction contract, i.e, the Contrat de Construction in accordance with the Loi du 19 décembre 1990 law, may receive "MAISON DE CONFIANCE" certification.

Furthermore, any house built under the aegis of the "MAISON DE CONFIANCE" trademark will be subject to a specific house construction contract.

The home-buyer benefits from a full range of guarantees and warranties

 "MAISON DE CONFIANCE"-certified house builders offer their clients the most extensive coverage in terms of legal guarantees: down payment refunds, performance bond, two year post delivery guarantee, ten year warranty, latent defects/building defects insurance cover.
These guarantees are underwritten by insurance brokers and surety bond companies.

The certification of house builders is regulated by both experts and consumers

The Fédération Française des Constructeurs de Maisons Individuelles (the French Federation of Detached Home Builders) is the only body authorized to award "MAISON DE CONFIANCE" certification.

This body reserves the right and has the means to call upon the skills of recognized experts and consumer associations with a view to validating the certification awarded by the FFC to individual home construction firms.

You have the right to advice and assistance from members of the legal professions

In the event of doubts on the authenticity and contents of the Contrat de Construction house-building contract, the client may invoke the Fédération Française des Constructeurs de Maisons Individuelles and contact a member of the legal professions, in this case, a bailiff, in their capacity as a neutral third party who can confirm, as a pre-emptive measure, the existence of any contract breach and if necessary, participate in a process of arbitration.
